Jerry's years as a budding luthier began in his dad's workshop. Together they built fine, handcrafted violins, archtops, and other unique stringed instruments. They also refurbished antique shortwave radios, which allowed dad to listen in on Radio Free Europe, mainly Polish broadcast.
             Instrument building, originating as a father/son hobby, soon became a serious endeavor for Jerry. It was through years of hard work and discipline that the skills were developed to build, repair, and re-finish and completely restore these precious instruments.
            The exposure to American radio (Beatles, Zep, Purple, Sabbath), and the profound influence of Clapton, Beck, and Page, led to Jerry's interest in the guitar as the instrument of focus. Studying these masters' works, building and modding guitars and amps became a passion in the following years, for himself and dozens of working, touring musicians.
            After finishing a degree in electronics, Jerry accepted a position consulting at NOSC (Naval Ocean Systems Center) at the PT. Loma, CA facility involving  a Desert Storm research study where, ironically, tube technology was still in practice. It was here and another university study of digital electronics that filled in all the enigmatic analog/digital gaps, leading Jerry into the musical electronic "bliss" he thrives upon.
